To access the Lambuth University Network your computer must be equipped with a device referred to as a Network Card. Other common names for this device include: Ethernet Card, NIC, or 10/100 card. All these names reference the same device. If you have a desktop computer you will have an internal PCI
version of this card, or if you are a laptop user it will be in the
form of a PCMCIA card. If you are unsure if you have a Network card, there are several ways to check for yourself. A Network card uses RJ45 cable which looks very similar to standard phone cable but the connector is slightly larger. Your network card will look similar to a modem, but will only have one place to make a connection, and the jack will be slightly larger to accommodate the larger RJ45 connector.
