
Paul Anthony Mego is Associate Professor of Political Science at Lambuth University.
The recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship (1994-1995) to conduct dissertation research on Slovak national identity and electoral politics in the Slovak Republic, he completed his doctoral dissertation – "Nationalist Rhetoric and Political Competition in Slovakia: December 1989 to June 1992" – while an adjunct instructor of political science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Mego earned his doctorate (1999) and master’s (1994) degrees in political science from the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa). He earned his bachelor’s degree (1988) in anthropology and geography from the same institution.
At Lambuth, Dr. Mego specializes in courses that focus on international affairs and global politics, comparative politics, and political theory, and often teaches a section of the Lambuth interdisciplinary Senior Seminar (SRS 4003). His academic interests include nationalism and ethnic conflict, political anthropology, the former Communist Bloc, and post-Cold War Europe. Dr. Mego serves as an advisor for Lambuth’s International Studies program, and is the school’s pre-law advisor.
