1. Whichever system of personality has control of the majority of psychic energy is the dominant system. (NOTE: "Psychic" energy is energy necessary to operate the personality. Physical energy is needed to do physical things and psychic energy is needed to do psychological work, involved within the personality.) What would a personality be like if the Id had control of most of the individual’s psychic energy? The Ego? The Superego?
2. Which system is dominant in a newborn infant?
3. In terms of Ego and Superego, why do parents object to their children playing with other children who are not from their own social class? Remember, Ego and Superego are learned.
4. What would Freud say about the "nature" of human beings? Evil? Good?
5. Why did Freud believe that the first years of life (preschool) were VERY important?
6. Compare and contrast the perspectives on the "nature" of human beings from Freud, Skinner, and Rogers. Who is correct? Why?
