Textbook: The Complete Book of Personal Training, by Douglas Brooks, published by Human Kinetics

 

Course Description Classes will include gross anatomy, training techniques for all the components of physical fitness, training for athletics competition, theories of training healthy and diseased populations, strength training equipment, and dynamics of leadership skills. Methods of evaluation will include creating exercise programs for a variety of individuals and written/oral exams and reports.

 

Part of the course requirement is that you will be assigned a “client” part of your overall grade will be determined by the success and rating of your client.

 

Assignments will be determined as needed to ensure proper retention of information.

There will be weekly quizzes and a midterm exam and exercise program.

 

This course will prepare students to personal train a wide variety of clients to meet their individual fitness goals.
