Personal fitness journal:
This
is a notebook consisting of all your fitness activities. It does not have to be
typed, but I must be able to read it
easily. A loose-leaf binder or three-pronged folder will work best. A table
of contents and subject dividers will greatly aid in organization. You will
turn in each lab write-up as it is completed. After grading, it will be
returned to you to become part of your fitness journal. The purpose of the
various lab assignments is to assist you in determining your current personal
fitness level, nutritional habits and lifestyle. They will serve as a baseline
to help you develop a lifetime fitness strategy. I want you also to keep track
of your weekly fitness activities (for example, if you go for a hike or bicycle
trip on the weekend). Throughout the class, you will be given journal questions
to answer and file in your notebook. Your journal is due the last day of class.
No late journals will be accepted.
Internet Assignment: The student is expected to
find an Internet site that is related to health or wellness in some area of
his/her interest. The student will write a critique of this site and assess
whether it contains helpful or possibly harmful information.
